US Strikes: The United States military said it carried out a sixth consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military targets, saying the operation targeted key defence and logistics infrastructure under orders from President Donald Trump.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American fighter jets, drones and warships launched precision-guided munitions against dozens of military sites, including coastal surveillance facilities, air defence systems, logistics infrastructure and maritime capabilities.

According to the military, the latest strikes hit targets on Qeshm Island and near Bandar Abbas, a strategic port that hosts major Iranian Navy and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps facilities along the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media also reported U.S. strikes on three bridges, a railway station in Bandar Khamir and Iranshahr Airport in southeastern Iran. Reuters said it could not independently verify those reports.

Iran responded by launching missiles and drones toward U.S. military bases in neighbouring countries, including an air base in Jordan that Tehran said had been used in previous American operations.

President Trump has repeatedly warned that the United States could expand attacks to include Iran’s energy infrastructure and other strategic targets.

International humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions, prohibits attacks on infrastructure considered essential for civilian populations. Legal experts have previously warned that strikes on such facilities could violate the laws of armed conflict.

The conflict began after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28, prompting Tehran to retaliate with strikes against Israel and Gulf states hosting U.S. military bases.

The continuing conflict has caused heavy casualties, displaced millions of people and increased volatility in global energy markets, with oil prices rising amid concerns over regional stability.
