The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has introduced interoperability in digital wallet payments, allowing women beneficiaries to withdraw funds through authorised retailers of six partner banks across Pakistan.
BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid announced the initiative during a live E-Kacheri at the programme’s headquarters on Tuesday.
She said the new system would remove restrictions linked to specific cities or banks. Beneficiaries will be able to access their payments through authorised retailers of participating banks nationwide.
According to BISP, the six partner institutions are HBL, Habib Microfinance, Bank Alfalah, Telenor Microfinance, Bank of Punjab and Mobilink/Jazz Bank.
During the live E-Kacheri, Senator Rubina Khalid listened to complaints from 28 callers. She directed relevant officials to resolve their concerns on a priority basis.

She said the digital wallet system followed directives from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The initiative aims to make payments more secure and transparent for women beneficiaries.
Senator Rubina Khalid urged beneficiaries to collect their free Benazir SIMs only from BISP offices.
Women must bring their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and personal mobile phones. A representative of the relevant mobile network operator will activate each SIM at the BISP office or designated site.
She also advised beneficiaries to keep confirmation messages after receiving or withdrawing their funds. These messages can serve as records of their transactions.
The chairperson warned women against handing their mobile phones to retailers or agents during withdrawals. Beneficiaries must present their original CNICs and complete biometric verification to withdraw cash.
Senator Rubina Khalid urged women with expired CNICs to renew their documents through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) without delay.
She also clarified the rules for household eligibility surveys. BISP determines eligibility through its official survey process.
According to the chairperson, beneficiaries cannot undergo another survey until at least two years have passed since their previous survey. She advised women against making repeated visits to BISP offices to request an early resurvey.
The programme said the digital payment changes aim to improve access to funds and make the withdrawal process more convenient for women across Pakistan.
