Nadia Afgan Praises Husband Jodi’s Family, Says ‘Good Humans Do Exist’

Pakistani actor Nadia Afgan has shared a heartfelt account of her relationship with her husband Jodi’s family, praising their kindness and warmth. Her experience reminded her of Zaryab’s story in the television drama Dar-e-Nijaat.

In a recent social media post, Afgan reflected on how marriage challenged her expectations about in-laws. She described the loving relationship she shares with her mother-in-law and said her husband’s family had welcomed her with genuine affection.

“Story time: People like Abu Bakar and his mother do exist,” Afgan wrote, referring to the compassionate family dynamic portrayed in Dar-e-Nijaat.

She explained that her experience after marrying Jodi had surprised her.

“When Jodi and I got married, I was as shocked as Zaryaab. His parents and his family were and still are the loveliest, most decent, and kindest people in the world.”

Nadia Afgan Shares Special Bond With Mother-in-Law

Afgan also spoke warmly about her mother-in-law, saying their relationship had grown into a bond resembling that of a mother and daughter.

“I have come to love my mother-in-law like my own mother; she loves me so much,” she shared.

The actor recalled asking her husband whether his family was genuinely so kind and why they rarely argued.

“Are you guys actually that nice? And you guys do not argue with each other? Are you aliens?”

Her humorous question highlighted how unexpected such a peaceful family environment had initially seemed to her.

Afgan concluded her post with a message of hope, connecting her personal experience with the drama’s themes.

“So, I can relate to Zaryaab, and believe me, good humans do exist.”

How Dar-e-Nijaat Connects With Her Story

The Pakistani drama Dar-e-Nijaat explores love, betrayal, trust and family relationships through the experiences of its central characters.

Durefishan Saleem plays Zaryab, whose relationship with her childhood sweetheart, Zamil, ends in heartbreak. Nameer Khan portrays Zamil, who moves on from the relationship without giving Zaryab the honesty and consideration she expected.

In contrast, Sheheryar Munawar plays Abu Bakar, whose compassion and family values offer a different perspective on relationships.

Abu Bakar’s relationship with his mother, Khushbakht, also highlights the importance of affection, loyalty and mutual respect within a family.

These themes provide the backdrop for Afgan’s comparison. Like Zaryab, the actor said she had been surprised by the kindness she encountered in her husband’s family.

A Different Perspective on Family Relationships

Afgan’s comments offer a positive perspective on relationships between daughters-in-law and their husbands’ families.

Television dramas often focus on family rivalries, misunderstandings, controlling relatives and troubled marriages. Although these storylines can reflect real social challenges, they do not represent every household.

Afgan’s experience highlights how families can also provide acceptance, emotional support and a sense of belonging.

The actor married Jawad Samar Khan, popularly known as Jodi, in June 2008. She has also appeared in drama serials including Pas-e-Deewar and Hey Fam.

Afgan is also expected to appear in a supporting role in Dar-e-Nijaat, according to the information shared in the original report.
