The murder investigation into Mir Raza has taken a new turn after his father alleged that his son’s long-time business partner and the partner’s brother may have information about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Raza’s father, Mir Hussain, said his son had discussed disputes over investments and financial matters with his business partner before his death. He identified Ahmed as Raza’s business partner and Ahmed’s brother, Abdullah, as an investor in the business.
According to Hussain, the dispute involved the pricing of raw materials used to prepare desserts at Waffix branches.

Hussain alleged that Abdullah supplied the raw materials through his departmental store. He said Raza had raised concerns about what he believed were inflated prices.
The allegations have added another dimension to the murder investigation. Hussain said Ahmed had been Raza’s friend since Grade I and that they had maintained a 21-year relationship.
However, Hussain claimed that both brothers stopped communicating with the family after Raza’s death.
Ahmed denied the allegations when contacted by The Express Tribune. He has since secured pre-arrest bail from the court.
Hussain maintains that Raza’s business partner may have important information about the murder and believes investigators should examine the matter further.
Raza’s lawyer, Jibran Nasir, has also raised questions about the business relationship in correspondence sent to the chief minister.
Nasir raised 24 questions about the case. At least seven relate to Ahmed and Abdullah and the information they allegedly provided during the police investigation.
Nasir said Call Data Record (CDR) data showed that Raza’s final contact was with Abdullah at 2:23am.
He argued that statements and other information obtained from the two brothers could help investigators establish the sequence of events before Raza’s death.
Hussain had previously told police that his son was concerned about alleged financial irregularities at Waffix branches.
He said Raza hired an auditor about a month before his death to examine the accounts of all the branches.
The allegations have now placed the business relationship and financial dealings under greater scrutiny as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding Raza’s murder.
