Meezan Bank Approves Over PKR 31.5 Billion in Housing Finance

Meezan Bank has approved more than PKR 31.45 billion in housing finance for 4,424 applicants under the Government of Pakistan’s Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Programme – Ghar Ho Tu Apna (GHTA).

The approvals highlight strong demand for affordable and Shariah-compliant home financing across Pakistan. The approved amount also represents a significant financing pipeline for the bank.

Further disbursements are expected as approved customers complete property selection, documentation and other required procedures.

Meezan Bank Crosses PKR 4 Billion in Disbursements

Meezan Bank has already disbursed more than PKR 4 billion under the programme. The financing has supported around 650 families in moving closer to home ownership.

August recorded a major increase in disbursements. During the month, the bank provided approximately PKR 2.2 billion in housing finance.

The August figure represented more than half of Meezan Bank’s total disbursements under the programme to date. This growth reflects the rising momentum behind the housing finance initiative.

Bank Highlights Demand for Islamic Housing Finance

Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Group Head Consumer Finance at Meezan Bank, said the approval figures demonstrate significant demand for affordable housing finance in Pakistan.

He noted that more than 4,400 applications have received approvals worth over PKR 31.5 billion. According to Siddiqui, the bank’s priority is now to convert the approved financing pipeline into home ownership for thousands of additional customers.

Meezan Bank also reaffirmed its commitment to the government’s affordable housing objectives. The bank aims to provide financing solutions that follow Islamic principles while expanding access to home ownership.

Easy Home Supports Residential Financing

Through its Easy Home solutions, Meezan Bank offers Shariah-compliant financing for residential property purchases and construction.

The bank is using its nationwide branch network to facilitate customers under the programme. Specialised housing finance teams and customer-focused processes are also helping applicants complete their financing requirements.

These efforts are designed to improve access to housing finance and support customers throughout the application process.

The rising approval and disbursement figures strengthen Meezan Bank’s role in Pakistan’s Islamic housing finance market.
