KARACHI, September 16, 2026: Syed Imam Raza Karim, father-in-law of Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, was laid to rest at Model Colony Cemetery on Wednesday evening.

His funeral prayers were offered earlier at Zulekha Mosque on Rufi Lake Drive in Gulistan-e-Johar.

A large number of people attended the funeral prayers. The gathering included political figures, relatives, local residents and people from different walks of life.

Among those present were PML-N Central Senior Vice President Syed Shah Muhammad Shah, PML-N Sindh President Bashir Memon and PML-N Central Leader Saleem Zia.

Other attendees included PML-N Sindh Senior Vice President Ali Akbar Gujjar, Provincial Adviser Senator Waqar Mehdi and PML-N Central Spokesperson Raja Ansari.

Several other party leaders, community representatives and associates of the deceased also attended the funeral.

Quran Khwani at Governor House

A Quran Khwani and Fateha for the deceased will be held at the Governor House on Thursday.

According to the announcement, the gathering will take place from 4pm to 6pm.

Family members, relatives and others are expected to attend the prayers for the departed soul.

Imam Raza Karim Dies in Karachi

Syed Imam Raza Karim passed away in Karachi on Tuesday.

His funeral arrangements were held on Wednesday, with the funeral prayers taking place at Zulekha Mosque before his burial at Model Colony Cemetery.

Governor Sindh Nehal Hashmi has received condolences from political leaders and others following the death of his father-in-law. The National Assembly has previously identified Nehal Hashmi as the serving Governor of Sindh.
