Inter Milan Beat Feyenoord 3-0 to Revive Champions League Campaign

Inter Milan revived their Champions League campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Feyenoord on Tuesday. German defender Yann Bisseck scored a superb first-half goal to help the Italian side secure all three points.

The three-time European champions had lost their opening two group matches. However, they showed their quality against a Feyenoord side that struggled to cope with Inter’s pace and attacking threat.

“We knew that quality was already there. It was about determination, pride, and character — values that this group has always demonstrated,” Inter manager Cristian Chivu told reporters.

Bisseck Gives Inter an Early Lead

Inter quickly took control at Rotterdam’s De Kuip stadium. Their sustained attacking pressure produced the opening goal in the eighth minute.

Bisseck found space outside the penalty area, turned towards goal and unleashed a curling left-footed shot. His effort travelled low into the net, beyond the reach of Feyenoord goalkeeper Tjark Ernst.

Feyenoord struggled to escape Inter’s high press. Meanwhile, the visitors controlled possession and dominated much of the opening period.

The hosts created their first notable opportunity after half an hour. A neat one-two sent Anis Hadj Moussa through, but Inter’s defence blocked his shot.

Inter then doubled their advantage shortly afterwards.

England international Djed Spence found space on the right and attempted a shot. The ball deflected off a defender and looped into the penalty area, where Pio Esposito headed it into the net from close range.

Zielinski Adds a Third After the Break

Feyenoord faced another setback early in the second half.

Their defence gave Piotr Zielinski room to advance towards the penalty area. The Polish midfielder took advantage and fired a powerful shot against the post and into the net in the 54th minute.

With Inter firmly in control, Chivu began making substitutions, including taking off striker Marcus Thuram.

The match briefly stopped during the second half after fireworks launched outside the stadium landed on the pitch and roof.

Play later resumed, but Feyenoord struggled to create meaningful chances. Inter comfortably protected their three-goal lead until the final whistle.

Feyenoord Manager Admits Team Must Improve

The victory improved Inter’s position in the Champions League standings. Feyenoord, meanwhile, remained under pressure as they sought to strengthen their hopes of reaching the knockout stage.

Feyenoord manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst acknowledged that his side needed better results.

“The reality is that we currently have three points from four matches, which, frankly, isn’t good enough,” he told reporters.

“Moving forward, we’ll need to win matches if we want to progress in the Champions League.”

Feyenoord’s next Champions League fixture is a home match against Porto. Inter will welcome Stuttgart as both teams continue their campaigns.
