GAZA: Gaza War entered its fourth year as Hamas announced plans to hand Gaza’s administration to a technocratic committee.

The group said the move could revive stalled peace efforts.

Hamas said the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) would take over civilian governance.

The committee forms part of a broader US-backed peace initiative.

Hamas said it wanted to remove what it called Israeli justifications for continuing military operations.

Israeli authorities have not allowed the committee to enter Gaza, according to officials involved in the process.

Last week, Hamas dissolved its governing body in Gaza.

The group said the decision would help restart the political process.

However, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar rejected the announcement.

He described it as an attempt to avoid disarmament.

The Board of Peace acknowledged Hamas’ decision.

However, it said it would judge the group by its actions instead of its promises.

The board also said the future Palestinian administration should control all weapons in Gaza.

Hamas has maintained its position on disarmament.

The group says Israel must withdraw from Gaza before it considers surrendering its weapons.

Israel says its military campaign aims to dismantle Hamas and secure the release of Israeli hostages.

Israeli leaders also insist Hamas cannot govern Gaza in the future.

Meanwhile, Palestinian factions and regional mediators continue talks in Cairo.
