RAWALPINDI, October 20, 2026: England won the toss and elected to bowl against Pakistan in the second match of the one-day international (ODI) tri-series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Pakistan retained the same playing XI that defeated Sri Lanka by 37 runs in their opening match. Meanwhile, England welcomed leg-spinner Adil Rashid back into the side after he missed the previous series due to fitness issues.
After winning the toss, England captain Harry Brook said his team would aim to restrict Pakistan before chasing the target.
“We will be trying to restrict them and then will try to chase that,” Brook said.
He added that England were looking forward to the contest despite facing a different opponent and playing under different conditions.
“We have an experienced side, but this is a different series, different occasion and we will be trying to do well,” he said.
Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi said his team would assess the conditions during the opening overs before setting a competitive total.
“I hope we will be able to post a good total,” Afridi said.
However, he acknowledged that Pakistan needed to improve their batting despite winning their opening game.
“I feel we played like 50 percent in batting. A few batsmen are not in touch, but hope things will go in the right direction,” he said.

Pakistan will look to build on their victory over Sri Lanka and maintain momentum in the three-team competition. England, meanwhile, will aim to make an early impact with the ball and secure a win in their opening match of the series.
