The Tando Allahyar Case is under investigation after an 11-year-old boy died following an alleged sexual assault at a seminary in Sindh’s Tando Allahyar district.

Police said the incident occurred on Wednesday at a seminary near a branch of the National Bank of Pakistan in Chambar.

The victim, identified as Imran Korai, son of Ali Nawaz Korai, arrived at the Government Hospital Chambar in an unconscious condition.

Doctors pronounced the boy dead after he reached the hospital.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Saleem Shah said investigators were waiting for the postmortem and forensic reports to determine the exact cause of death.

He said a special police team is investigating the case and examining every possible angle.

Police have recorded statements from 20 students at the seminary.

Investigators have also detained five staff members for questioning and temporarily sealed the seminary.

The victim was laid to rest on Thursday in his native village, Sono Korai.

Police had not registered a First Information Report (FIR) by Thursday evening.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar took notice of the incident and directed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hyderabad to submit a report.

Authorities said the investigation will continue after forensic and postmortem findings become available.
