Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited has strengthened the country’s fuel storage infrastructure by inaugurating a 7.4-million-litre motor gasoline storage tank at its Tarru Jabba terminal in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The newly commissioned facility represents another milestone in Wafi Energy’s long-term investment strategy and is expected to enhance fuel availability for customers, particularly along key transport corridors leading to Pakistan’s major tourism destinations.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior representatives of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), led by Sohail Ahmed Tariq, Senior Executive Director (Enforcement), along with officials from Wafi Energy Pakistan.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer Zubair Shaikh said the company has served Pakistan since 1947 and remains committed to investing in the country’s growing energy needs.

“Pakistan’s demand for fuel continues to increase, and we are investing to strengthen the country’s energy security. Reliable fuel supply depends on adequate storage capacity and proximity to customers. This investment enhances our ability to serve consumers while supporting the continued expansion of our Shell network across Pakistan,” he said.

Construction of the new storage tank was completed over a one-year period, with the project achieving 300,000 safe work-hours. The facility is expected to improve fuel distribution efficiency and strengthen supply chain resilience in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and surrounding regions.

The investment also supports the continued expansion of Wafi Energy Pakistan’s Shell retail network, which now includes more than 700 service stations nationwide after the addition of 32 new sites during 2026.

The company said the project reflects its long-term commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s energy infrastructure, improving fuel accessibility and supporting the country’s economic growth through continued investment.
