KARACHI: Iraq‘s Consul General, His Excellency Dr. Maher Mjhid, was honored at a farewell dinner in Karachi, where business leaders and government officials recognized his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iraq.

The event was organized by KHA Business and International Relations and brought together members of the business community, diplomats and government representatives.

Prominent businessman and architect Kafeel Hussain presented a Memento of Appreciation to Dr. Maher Mjhid in recognition of his diplomatic services and his role in promoting economic and business cooperation between the two countries.

More than 100 words into the ceremony, Iraq remained at the center of discussions as participants highlighted the importance of expanding trade, investment and diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Iraq. They expressed confidence that stronger business partnerships would create new opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors.

The ceremony was attended by Irfan Soomro, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Liaison Office in Karachi, along with Jilani Yousuf, Hayat Khan and other distinguished guests from the diplomatic and business communities.

Participants praised Dr. Maher Mjhid’s efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation during his tenure and acknowledged his contribution to strengthening relations between the two friendly countries.
