Iran executed three men on Sunday after convicting them of carrying out operations for Israel and the United States and participating in armed unrest during January’s anti-government protests, state media reported.
The executions are the latest in a series linked to the January unrest. In recent months, Iranian authorities have executed several people accused of having ties to Israel and the United States.
The three men were identified as Hassan Dioband, Hamid Kazemi and Reza Zanganeh.
According to Iran’s judiciary, they used firearms, grenades and Molotov cocktails during the unrest. They were also accused of setting fire to public facilities and damaging an electricity substation in Karaj, causing power outages in some areas.
The judiciary said Dioband was arrested on January 11. Investigators had identified him as a suspect in attacks on public property and incitement to violence.

Authorities subsequently arrested 10 other people accused of participating in the unrest under his supervision.
Iranian courts sentenced the three men to death and ordered the confiscation of their assets. The executions took place after the Supreme Court upheld their sentences.
The remaining defendants received prison sentences ranging from five to 10 years.
The reported charges and allegations were presented by Iranian judicial authorities and state media.
