foodpanda Launches Pakistan’s First Flagship Rider Rest Station in Lahore

LAHORE: Rider Rest Station is now part of foodpanda Pakistan’s effort to improve the working environment for delivery partners after the company unveiled its first flagship facility at Gold Crest Mall in Lahore. The initiative aims to provide riders with a safe, comfortable and reliable place to rest between deliveries while protecting them from extreme weather conditions.

The newly opened facility marks a first-of-its-kind initiative in Pakistan and reflects foodpanda’s broader commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its delivery fleet. The company said riders regularly work through intense summer heat, heavy traffic and unpredictable weather while ensuring customers receive meals and essential goods on time.

Facility Offers Comfort and Essential Services

More than 100 words into the announcement, the Rider Rest Station stands out as a dedicated space designed to improve riders’ daily working conditions.

Located at Gold Crest Mall, the facility features air-conditioned seating areas, clean drinking water, high-speed mobile charging stations and designated spaces where riders can relax between orders.

foodpanda said the station was developed after months of planning to transform appreciation for delivery partners into practical support.

“Our riders serve our communities every single day with resilience and dedication. They deserve spaces thoughtfully designed for their comfort and care,” said Muntaqa Peracha, Chief Executive Officer of foodpanda Pakistan.

He added that the Lahore facility marks the beginning of a wider initiative to improve standards for last-mile delivery workers across Pakistan.

Partnership Supports Rider Welfare

Gold Crest Mall partnered with foodpanda to establish the flagship station.

Gold Crest Mall Chief Executive Officer Hasaan Pardesi said meaningful social impact comes through collaboration between industry leaders and described the initiative as an important step towards recognising the contribution of delivery riders.

He said providing cooling areas, hydration facilities and charging stations would help ensure riders receive the comfort and respect they deserve during their workday.

Nationwide Expansion Planned

foodpanda said it plans to expand the programme by partnering with corporate organisations, shopping malls, commercial property owners, fuel stations, real estate developers and municipal authorities.

The company aims to establish a nationwide network of Rider Rest Stations so delivery partners across Pakistan have access to safe and fully equipped facilities wherever they operate.
