The Sargodha Board has announced the Matric Part-I annual examination results for 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 42.61% as girls recorded significantly higher success rates than boys among both regular and private candidates.

According to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Sargodha, 107,782 candidates appeared in the examination, while 45,925 students were declared successful.

Among regular candidates, 46,390 boys took the examination and 17,309 passed, giving them a pass percentage of 37.31%. In comparison, 44,585 girls appeared as regular candidates, with 22,729 securing a pass. Their pass percentage stood at 50.98%, more than 13 percentage points higher than that of the boys.

A similar difference was recorded among private candidates. Of the 8,773 boys who appeared privately, only 2,315 were successful, resulting in a pass percentage of 26.39%.

Meanwhile, 8,034 private female candidates appeared in the examination, with 3,572 passing. The girls recorded a pass percentage of 44.46%, again substantially higher than their male counterparts.

The results have been made available on the board’s official website, allowing students to check their individual results online.

Students who are not satisfied with their marks have also been given an opportunity to request rechecking of their answer scripts. The board said applications for rechecking can be submitted online within 15 days of the result announcement.

Candidates seeking rechecking will be required to pay the prescribed fee before their applications can be processed.

The results provide an early indication of academic performance in the Sargodha education region, while the notable difference between male and female pass rates is likely to attract attention from students, parents and education authorities.
