Indus Motor Sales Rise 33% as Pakistan’s Auto Market Recovers

Indus Motor Company (IMC) reported a strong financial performance for FY2025–26, with vehicle sales rising 33% as demand in Pakistan’s automotive market continued to recover.

The company sold 45,035 units during the financial year ended June 30, 2026. The figure compares with sales in the previous year and reflects improving market demand, according to IMC.

Net sales revenue increased to Rs258.75 billion from Rs215.14 billion in FY2024–25.

Profit before taxation and levy reached Rs42.82 billion, compared with Rs37.67 billion a year earlier. IMC attributed the improvement to cost management, greater localisation and favourable exchange-rate movements.

The company’s earnings per share also increased to Rs324.50 from Rs292.74.

Net profit after tax rose to Rs25.51 billion from Rs23.01 billion.

IMC sees economic recovery

IMC Chairman Mohamedali R. Habib said Pakistan experienced economic stabilisation and gradual recovery during the financial year.

He said the company’s performance reflected the resilience of its business, brands and workforce.

Habib also called for a stable and predictable policy environment as the automotive sector enters a period of policy transition.

He said consistent policies would help support local manufacturing, technology transfer, innovation and long-term industrial investment.

IMC Chief Executive Officer Ali Asghar Jamali said the 33% increase in unit sales reflected the recovery in market demand.

He said the company would continue to focus on operational efficiency, innovation and localisation.

Jamali also highlighted disciplined capital allocation as an important part of IMC’s strategy to improve competitiveness and create long-term value for customers and shareholders.

Pakistan auto market rebounds

Pakistan’s automotive industry also recorded strong growth during the year.

Passenger car and light commercial vehicle sales reported by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association increased 39% to more than 206,000 units.

Several factors supported the recovery. These included improving consumer confidence, easier financing conditions and new product offerings.

Measures aimed at rationalising used-vehicle imports also contributed to the market’s recovery.

However, used-vehicle imports still represented about 19% of the PAMA market, according to IMC.

The company said this highlights the need for consistent policies that encourage local manufacturing and increase localisation.

Sustainability remains a priority

IMC also reported progress in its environmental initiatives during the year.

The company said it became the first automotive company in Pakistan to complete the plantation of one million trees across the country.

It also planted 16,000 mangroves along the Sindh coastline.

Solar energy now powers 85% of IMC dealerships, while more than 13% of its local suppliers have also shifted to solar power.

The company carried out several carbon-reduction projects at its manufacturing facility during the year. These initiatives helped reduce its overall carbon footprint.

CSR programme reaches more people

IMC also expanded its community initiatives through its Concern Beyond Cars corporate social responsibility programme.

The company invested Rs377 million in community projects during FY2025–26.

The initiatives reached 255,761 people, representing a 27% increase from the previous year.

IMC said its social investment remains focused on supporting communities while contributing to wider development goals.

The company’s latest results reflect improving conditions in Pakistan’s automotive sector, while its management continues to focus on localisation, sustainability and long-term industrial growth.
