Eid Milad-un-Nabi Gathering in Karachi Highlights Seerah, Unity and Tolerance

The 34th Annual Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebration and gathering for Muslim unity was held at Mehfil-e-Murtaza in Karachi on Tuesday night, bringing together religious scholars, intellectuals, poets and Naat reciters to reflect on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Eid Milad-un-Nabi programme was held on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH at the Mehfil-e-Murtaza premises in PECHS, with speakers stressing the importance of understanding Islamic teachings and incorporating the values of unity, tolerance and patience into everyday life.

The event was hosted by Muhammad Ali Merchant, while Qari Shakoor Ali presented the recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Participants from different schools of thought attended the gathering, which focused on the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and its relevance to contemporary society.

Scholars discuss the teachings of the Holy Prophet

A discussion titled “Place of Worship” formed an important part of the programme, with Allama Anwar Ali Najafi, Maulana Asghar Dars, Shahid Sher Ali and Sheikh Mustafa Shafqat Hussain Ahmednagarwala taking part.

The speakers discussed different aspects of the Seerah and highlighted the importance of following the teachings and example of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Mufti Abdul Basit Durrani and Dr Allama Shah Feroz-ud-Din Rahmani also addressed the gathering, shedding light on the Prophet’s life, character and teachings.

Speakers emphasised that love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is an integral part of faith and that Muslims should seek a deeper understanding of Islam through the Qur’an, the Seerah and the teachings associated with the Ahl al-Bayt.

Naat recitations mark the religious gathering

The programme also featured Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool, presented by Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi, Hussain Mustafa Bhai Shahjapuri and Naeem Huzaifa Bhai Karachi Wala.

The recitations added a spiritual dimension to the gathering, which centred on expressing love and devotion toward the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The event concluded with Durood-o-Salam presented by Sahibzada Shah Hussain-ud-Din Rahmani.

Organisers said the gathering reflected the importance of promoting mutual respect and unity among Muslims while encouraging participants to apply the principles of patience, tolerance and brotherhood in their practical lives.

Shields presented to scholars and guests

Honorary shields were presented to religious scholars, distinguished guests and respected elders in recognition of their participation and contributions to the gathering.

At the conclusion, members of Mehfil-e-Murtaza thanked the scholars, guests and participants for attending and contributing to the success of the annual event.

The organisers said the gathering served as an opportunity to remember the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) while reinforcing a message of unity, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
