Punjab’s Rana Irfan claimed the inaugural Ali Asghar Valika All-Pakistan Snooker Championship title after defeating Mubashir Raza 4-3 in a closely contested final in Karachi. Irfan produced two century breaks, including the tournament’s highest break of 139, to secure a memorable victory in the championship.

The tournament, organised by World Home Snooker, concluded with a high-quality final that kept spectators engaged until the deciding frame. Rana Irfan registered a break of 139 in the second frame before sealing the title with another century break of 126 in the seventh and final frame. Mubashir Raza mounted a determined comeback but could not overturn Irfan’s lead.

Rana Irfan’s break of 139 stood as the highest of the tournament. Several snooker enthusiasts also rewarded the champion with additional cash prizes in recognition of his outstanding performance.

PIA Chairman Arif Habib, the chief guest at the closing ceremony, presented trophies and prizes to the finalists. He also announced a Rs300,000 cash award for the champion.

Speaking to the media, Arif Habib praised the successful staging of the event at Naya Nazimabad and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting sports development. He said the contributions of Ali Asghar Valika to the promotion of snooker would always be remembered.

The ceremony was attended by Abbas Valika, former world champion Mohammad Yousuf, World Home Snooker founder Waqar Alam, Tournament Director Mohammad Waqas, Naveen Perwani, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana President Syed Mohammad Talha, Manager Mohammad Asif, and a large gathering of snooker fans.
