Ali Asghar Valika Snooker Championship: Former world champion Mohammad Asif and several leading Pakistani cueists secured impressive victories on the opening day of the 1st Ali Asghar Valika All Pakistan Invitational Snooker Championship 2026 at World Home Snooker in Naya Nazimabad, Karachi.

The championship began with best-of-five-frame matches featuring players from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Former world champion Mohammad Asif defeated Umer Memon of Sindh 3-0, while Asjad Iqbal produced another dominant display by beating former world champion Mohammad Yousuf of Sindh 3-0.

In other matches, Rana Irfan of Punjab edged Umair Alam of Sindh 3-2, while Mubashir Raza of Punjab defeated Umer Ismail of Sindh 3-1.

Umair Khan of Sindh overcame Ahsan Ramzan of Punjab 3-2, and Sajjad of Punjab defeated Rizwan Hashmi of Sindh 3-1.

Hasnain Akhter of Sindh registered a comfortable 3-0 victory over Muhammad Sahil, while Shahid Aftab of Punjab defeated Umair Ansari of Sindh in a closely contested 3-2 match.

Waseem Abbas of Punjab beat Khizar Aziz of Sindh 3-1, while Ali Zaman of Sindh outlasted Muhammad Faizan of Sindh 3-2.

Ian Mark John of Sindh defeated Ghulam Abbas of Balochistan 3-1, and Sharjeel Mehmood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa completed a 3-0 win over Ali Abbasi of Sindh.

The tournament is organised by World Home Snooker at Naya Nazimabad and features many of Pakistan’s leading snooker players competing for the title.
