Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has urged Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to clarify his recent remarks about Pakistan’s armed forces, saying national security and the country’s interests must remain above political differences.

Speaking at a press conference outside the Sindh Information Commission in Karachi, Siddiqui said democracy guarantees the right to hold different political opinions. However, he added that no political statement should harm Pakistan’s national interest or provide material for hostile propaganda.

He expressed concern over Fazlur Rehman’s recent remarks and said he hoped the JUI-F leader would clarify his statement and address the concerns raised by the public.

Siddiqui praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and said their role had strengthened the country’s security and international standing. He added that protecting the state’s dignity and national narrative is a collective responsibility.

Senior MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar also criticised Fazlur Rehman’s remarks. He said comments that undermine the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs could affect the morale of security personnel serving on the country’s borders.

Sattar urged Fazlur Rehman to correct his statement and apologise to the nation. He said the JUI-F chief had himself survived acts of terrorism and had received support from people across Pakistan during difficult times.

MQM-P reaffirmed its commitment to defending Pakistan’s national interests and said it would continue opposing any narrative that it believes harms the country’s unity or security.

Several MQM-P senators, lawmakers and party officials attended the press conference, including Syed Aminul Haque, Senator Khalida Ateeb and members of the party’s central committee.
