LOS ANGELES: Lana Del Rey has surprised fans by revealing that she has been working on two albums at the same time, announcing that a companion record titled “Spyda” will accompany her upcoming album “Stove.”
The singer-songwriter shared the update with fans, saying she is in the final stages of completing Spyda and expects to send both albums for vinyl production within the next month.
Del Rey explained that Spyda developed naturally during the creation of Stove, the project she previously teased under the titles Lasso and The Right Person Will Stay.
She described Stove as the original concept for the album, while Spyda evolved into a companion project inspired by the personal and creative changes she has experienced over the past several years.

According to Del Rey, the new collection explores themes of transformation, patience, uncertainty and new beginnings, reflecting the emotional journey behind her recent life experiences and artistic evolution.
She said Stove remains a fully planned and cohesive record, while Spyda emerged as a separate body of work shaped by unexpected inspiration and changing perspectives.
The announcement quickly generated excitement across social media, where fans welcomed the news of two upcoming albums.
Some fans celebrated the surprise announcement, while others playfully referenced Del Rey’s long-running habit of teasing new music well before confirming release dates.
One fan joked on X that “just one more month” had become the singer’s favourite phrase, while another said they would believe the albums’ arrival only after they officially became available.
Although Del Rey has not announced release dates for either project, anticipation continues to build for her return.
Stove and Spyda will become her first full-length albums since 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which received widespread critical acclaim.
Earlier this year, Del Rey previewed Stove by releasing “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter.” She also released “First Light,” a song created for the James Bond video game 007 First Light.
While fans continue to await official release dates, Del Rey has shared glimpses of artwork for both albums and confirmed that the projects are nearing completion.
The two records are expected to mark a new chapter in the singer’s career, combining her signature storytelling with themes of personal growth, change and reinvention.
