KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on Wednesday said equipping young people with modern skills is essential for Pakistan’s sustainable economic growth, urging them to embrace digital technologies on World Youth Skills Day.

In his message marking the occasion, the governor described skilled youth as the country’s greatest asset and the foundation of a brighter future. He said Pakistan must promote technical, vocational and digital education alongside conventional learning to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.

Hashmi highlighted the launch of an AI Summer Camp at the Governor House Sindh for schoolchildren during the summer holidays. He said participants who successfully complete the programme will receive certificates.

He added that the Governor House continues to offer training in information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), coding and other skills development programmes to help young people gain internationally competitive expertise.

The governor urged young people to focus on emerging technologies and digital skills so they can compete effectively in the global job market.

Hashmi said the provincial government is providing modern technical training to young people across Sindh on merit and is working to create more employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to help skilled youth become self-reliant.

He added that developing modern skills would help reduce unemployment, boost Pakistan’s exports and strengthen the national economy.

The governor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering young people by nurturing their talent and providing the resources needed to help them achieve their full potential.
