The latest operation comes a day after security forces reported killing seven terrorists affiliated with the state-designated Fitna al-Khawarij in Kharan district.

The Kharan operation was conducted in the Lajay area following intelligence reports about the presence of militants.

Earlier, on August 10, security forces killed five terrorists, including a key commander identified as Wazir, during an operation in Panjgur district.

On August 9, security forces reported killing 15 terrorists in intelligence-based operations across Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai and Noshki.

Security forces have conducted a series of operations under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3 as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts across Balochistan.

Growing Security Challenge

Pakistan has faced a rise in terrorist attacks in recent years. Data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data project (ACLED) showed that attacks increased from 658 in 2022 to 2,425 in 2025.

Balochistan remains one of the key areas affected by militant violence. Terrorist groups have targeted civilians, security personnel and government installations across the province.

Security forces continue operations against militant networks while authorities maintain that counterterrorism efforts will continue until lasting peace is restored.
