The Sindh government has decided to launch a comprehensive public awareness campaign to strengthen efforts against polio.

A follow-up meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Polio Eradication was held at the Sindh Secretariat on Thursday.

Sindh Information Secretary Kashif Gulzar Sheikh chaired the meeting.

Officials reviewed progress on directives issued during an earlier task force meeting chaired by the Sindh chief minister.

The meeting also discussed the media strategy and public awareness plan for the polio eradication campaign.

Sindh to Expand Polio Awareness Campaign

Officials agreed to launch an extensive campaign to educate parents about the importance of polio vaccination.

The campaign will use multiple communication channels to reach families across the province.

These will include print, electronic, social and digital media.

The Information Department will use available platforms to share information about polio prevention and vaccination.

The department will also focus on providing accurate information to address misconceptions about polio vaccination.

Information Secretary Calls for Coordinated Efforts

Kashif Gulzar Sheikh directed officials to take priority measures to improve public awareness of the anti-polio campaign.

He stressed the need for coordinated communication among government departments.

The Information Department, Health Department and EPI Sindh will work closely to strengthen awareness activities.

Officials will also develop communication efforts that can provide reliable information to parents and communities.

Districts Asked to Strengthen Outreach

The meeting directed relevant officers to make the awareness campaign more effective at the district level.

Officials will use available communication channels to deliver polio prevention messages to the public.

The initiative aims to improve awareness and encourage parents to ensure their children receive polio drops during vaccination campaigns.

Senior officials from the Information Department, Health Department, UNICEF and EPI Sindh attended the meeting.
