SI Global, Dell Technologies Renew Push for Digital Transformation in Pakistan

SI Global Solutions and Dell Technologies have reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating digital transformation in Pakistan.

The companies also agreed to take their 10-year partnership to the next level through advanced technology solutions and products.

They made the commitment at an event titled “Powering Possibilities Technologies.” The event brought together partners and technology industry stakeholders.

SI Global Calls for Greater Investment in Local Technology

SI Global Solutions CEO Dr Noman A. Said said Pakistan must shift from being mainly a technology consumer to becoming a technology developer and exporter.

He said the country needs to make research and development a national priority.

According to Said, stronger R&D needs more than funding. He also called for procurement policies that allow locally developed technologies to compete and demonstrate their value at scale.

He pointed to Singapore as an example of a country that built a competitive technology ecosystem through sustained investment in R&D, industry collaboration and commercialisation.

He also cited Malaysia’s approach to government procurement. Malaysia has introduced mechanisms that give qualified locally developed R&D products priority in public procurement.

Procurement Rules Need to Support Innovation

Said said Pakistan should also modernise its public procurement framework.

He argued that government agencies should not assess technology solely on the lowest price or traditional qualification criteria.

Instead, procurement policies should consider innovation, local intellectual property, R&D investment and cybersecurity.

They should also assess lifecycle value and technology transfer, he said.

Such changes could create greater opportunities for Pakistani technology companies and encourage businesses to invest in local research and development.

Dell Highlights Rising Demand for AI and Data Storage

Speaking as the chief guest, Dell Technologies Country Manager Naveed Siraj said technology adoption continues to grow across Pakistan.

However, he said the rapid pace of technological development makes it increasingly important for businesses to select solutions that match their specific requirements.

Siraj also stressed the importance of aligning government policies with technology adoption at the local level.

He said such alignment would help Pakistan benefit from emerging technologies and new business models in an economy increasingly driven by technology and artificial intelligence.

AI Becomes Critical for Data-Driven Decisions

Siraj said demand for data storage continues to increase in Pakistan and international markets.

At the same time, AI has become increasingly important for processing large volumes of raw data.

He said AI can convert raw data into structured information that businesses can use to make better decisions.

The growing demand for storage and AI solutions is creating new opportunities for technology companies and businesses across Pakistan.

Dell Plans New Technology Solutions for Pakistan

Siraj said Dell Technologies has operated in Pakistan since 1989 and continues to maintain its presence in the country.

He added that the company plans to expand its operations through dedicated partners such as SI Global Solutions.

Dell Technologies is also preparing to introduce new solutions, devices and applications in Pakistan, Siraj said.

The company aims to provide users with access to globally standardised technology and help businesses and individuals benefit from new digital tools.

The event was attended by partners of SI Global Solutions and Dell Technologies.

The renewed partnership highlights the growing role of technology, AI, data infrastructure and local innovation in Pakistan’s digital transformation.
