MG Pakistan has marked a new milestone in its local manufacturing operations with the CKD line-off of the all-new MG ZS.
Trailers carrying locally assembled units have now left the MG Lahore Plant for customer deliveries.
The milestone fulfils MG Pakistan’s commitment to begin deliveries by the end of September.
The company introduced the new ZS in Pakistan recently. The B-SUV combines modern styling, safety features, technology and everyday practicality.
The new MG ZS is available in three variants: Vibe Petrol, Hybrid+ Excite and Hybrid+ Essence.
The Vibe Petrol uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a CVT transmission.
Both Hybrid+ variants use MG’s 1.5-litre Hybrid+ system with a three-speed hybrid transmission.
The hybrid powertrain produces 158 kW of combined power and 465 Nm of combined torque.

MG says the system delivers an electric-first driving experience with responsive performance and improved efficiency.
Safety remains a major feature of the all-new MG ZS.
All variants come with six airbags, Bosch ESP 9.3 and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The vehicle also uses an 81% high-strength steel body frame, according to MG Pakistan.
Inside, the ZS offers a spacious cabin with digital interfaces and smartphone connectivity.
The SUV provides 443 litres of boot space.
Folding the rear seats increases the capacity to 1,457 litres.
The top variant also features a powered tailgate and an electronic panoramic sunroof.
The CKD line-off represents another stage in MG Pakistan’s localisation strategy.
The company says local assembly will bring its global engineering, safety, technology and design standards closer to Pakistani customers.
More importantly, the first locally assembled ZS units are already heading to customers.
MG Pakistan said the move allows the company to transition directly from production to deliveries.
Jianqiang Shao, CEO of MG Motor Pakistan, said the milestone represented more than the start of production.
“With the first vehicles now leaving our factory for customer deliveries, we are delivering on the commitment we made to our customers to begin deliveries by the end of September,” Shao said.
He added that keeping customer commitments remains an important part of the MG brand globally.
MG Pakistan said the brand has helped raise expectations around safety, technology, design, performance and comfort since entering the local market.
The local assembly of the all-new MG ZS builds on that direction.
With the first locally assembled vehicles now on their way to customers, MG Pakistan is expanding its local production efforts while beginning the next phase of the ZS in the country.
