HBL has marked 50 years of operations in Bangladesh, celebrating five decades of supporting businesses, trade and investment in the country.
The bank began operations in Bangladesh in 1976. Since then, it has expanded its role in supporting financial flows and connecting businesses across international markets.
A ceremony in Dhaka marked the anniversary on September 9. Clients, regulators and senior HBL executives attended the event.
Senior officials included HBL Chairman Sultan Ali Allana, President and CEO Muhammad Nassir Salim, Head International Farhan Talib and Bangladesh Country Manager Alamgir Morshed.
HBL said its presence in Bangladesh has grown alongside its customers.
The bank supports businesses and financial institutions involved in domestic and international markets.

HBL Bangladesh now offers account services in RMB/CNY, the Chinese currency, to its clients.
The bank said it is one of three banks from South Asia and the Middle East and North Africa region offering end-to-end RMB intermediation in China.
This capability allows HBL to support cross-border transactions involving China.
It also enables the bank to work directly with major Chinese state-owned enterprises and leading financial institutions.
The service could help businesses manage trade and financial flows between Bangladesh and China more efficiently.
HBL’s 50-year presence reflects its long-term commitment to Bangladesh’s financial and business sector.
