Global Outlook Exchange: Business, Diplomatic Leaders Discuss Pakistan’s Economic Future

Global Outlook Exchange brought together business executives, diplomats, policymakers and technology leaders in Lahore on Wednesday to discuss Pakistan’s economic outlook, structural reforms and opportunities for sustainable growth.

The inaugural forum was organised by The Leaders Network Pakistan in partnership with Business Line, an SAP partner and technology outsourcing company. The event aimed to strengthen dialogue between the public and private sectors on the country’s economic future.

Focus on global economy and reforms

Business Line powered the exclusive forum, which featured a keynote address by Dr. Salman Ahmed, Global Head of Macro and Strategic Asset Allocation at Fidelity International.

He examined the global economic landscape, emerging market trends and the reforms Pakistan needs to achieve long-term and sustainable economic growth. He also highlighted the importance of sound economic policies and investment-friendly reforms.

US highlights economic partnership

U.S. Consul General in Lahore Stetson Sanders reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to expanding economic cooperation with Pakistan.

He said the two countries share a longstanding economic partnership and noted that stronger trade and business ties remain a key priority. Sanders added that initiatives such as the SelectUSA Investment Summit create opportunities to boost commercial engagement, attract investment and strengthen connections between businesses in both countries.

Business Line stresses leadership and innovation

Business Line Pakistan CEO Nabeel Ahmed said technology alone cannot transform economies without visionary leadership and meaningful collaboration.

He said lasting progress depends on informed decision-making, open dialogue and the exchange of ideas. Ahmed added that Business Line’s partnership with The Leaders Network Pakistan reflects its commitment to supporting Pakistan’s leadership ecosystem alongside its technology services.

Industry leaders call for investment

The event also featured addresses by The Leaders Network Pakistan Founder Anwar Kabir, Bank of Punjab President and CEO Zafar Masud, and FPCCI Regional Chairman and Vice President Zaki Ijaz.

The speakers stressed the need for economic reforms, greater investment and stronger private-sector leadership to improve Pakistan’s long-term competitiveness and accelerate economic development.

Platform for future dialogue

Organisers said the Global Outlook Exchange marks the beginning of an ongoing leadership platform designed to encourage dialogue between business, government and industry leaders.

They said future editions of the forum will continue to focus on policies, innovation and partnerships that can help shape Pakistan’s economic future.
