DIB Pakistan Chooses Temenos to Drive Core Banking Upgrade in Partnership With Systems Limited

KARACHI: Temenos will power DIB Pakistan’s next-generation core banking platform after the bank signed a strategic implementation agreement with Systems Limited to modernize its technology infrastructure and accelerate its digital transformation.

Under the agreement announced on Monday, DIB Pakistan will migrate its core banking system from Oracle Flexcube to the Temenos Transact cloud-native platform. Systems Limited, a certified Temenos partner, will lead the implementation and oversee the bank’s end-to-end technology transformation.

The Core Banking System (CBS) modernization marks a major milestone in DIB Pakistan’s long-term digital strategy. The bank aims to improve operational efficiency, strengthen regulatory compliance and deliver faster, more secure financial services through a modern cloud-based platform.

More than 100 words into the announcement, Temenos emerged as the centerpiece of DIB Pakistan’s digital roadmap. The bank said the new platform will help deliver a more seamless customer experience while providing the flexibility needed to launch innovative banking products and expand digital services.

Digital Banking Strategy

Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz, Chief Executive Officer of DIB Pakistan, said the bank continues to invest in advanced technology to provide convenient, secure and efficient banking solutions.

He said the partnership with Systems Limited represents the first major step toward deploying Temenos’ market-leading technology and building a modern, digital-first banking experience for customers.

Systems Limited to Lead Implementation

Systems Limited will manage the complete implementation using its banking expertise, industry accelerators and Country Model Bank framework.

Asif Peer, Group CEO and Managing Director of Systems Limited, said core banking transformation creates the foundation for an institution’s long-term digital future. He added that the partnership combines Systems Limited’s implementation expertise with Temenos’ advanced technology to support DIB Pakistan’s growth, regulatory excellence and customer experience.

Temenos Highlights Long-Term Partnership

Santhosh Rao, Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa at Temenos, welcomed the agreement and said the company was pleased to expand its relationship with DIB Pakistan.

He said Temenos’ cloud-native platform helps financial institutions improve speed, security and operational efficiency while supporting innovation across digital banking services.

Platform to Support Future Growth

Syed Farhan Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer of DIB Pakistan, described the project as a defining milestone for the bank. He said the Temenos Transact platform will streamline operations, strengthen resilience and improve customer experiences while supporting future expansion.

Chief Information Officer Imran Ali Khan Soomro added that the implementation will also accelerate the bank’s digital and artificial intelligence ambitions by creating a robust and future-ready technology foundation.

The modernization program will introduce an API-first architecture that enables DIB Pakistan to expand digital services more efficiently. The new platform will also strengthen cybersecurity, improve operational stability and simplify regulatory compliance.

With the transformation now underway, DIB Pakistan and Systems Limited expect the project to support long-term innovation, improve service delivery and position the bank for sustainable growth in Pakistan’s evolving banking sector.
