Centrum Air Opens Karachi–Tashkent Route, Giving Pakistan Direct Access to Central Asia

KARACHI: Centrum Air will launch direct flights between Karachi and Tashkent from September 3, 2026, giving travelers a faster and more convenient way to reach Uzbekistan while strengthening regional connectivity between Pakistan and Central Asia.

Gerry’s Group announced the expansion of the airline’s operations in Pakistan with the introduction of the new non-stop route. The service will operate twice a week, offering passengers an affordable and time-saving travel option for business, tourism and family visits.

The announcement came during a launch ceremony held at the Karachi Marriott Hotel on August 5. Senior government officials, aviation executives, corporate leaders, travel partners and media representatives attended the event to celebrate the airline’s latest expansion.

Direct Flights to Strengthen Regional Connectivity

Gerry’s Group will serve as Centrum Air’s General Sales Agent (GSA) and Ground Handling Agent (GHA) in Pakistan. Therefore, the company will manage nationwide sales, marketing and operational support for the airline.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) Deputy Director General Luqman Rasheed joined senior officials from Gerry’s Group and Centrum Air at the ceremony.

Moreover, Gerry’s Group Director Arshad Wali Muhammad said the partnership reflects the two organizations’ shared commitment to professionalism, innovation, reliability and customer service. He added that both sides aim to make the Karachi and Lahore routes successful while promoting stronger travel links between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

New Opportunities for Business and Tourism

From September 3, Centrum Air will become the only airline operating exclusive direct flights between Karachi and Tashkent. As a result, the new route is expected to boost business travel, tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Passengers will also gain access to Centrum Air’s expanding international network through its hub in Tashkent. Consequently, travelers can connect to several regional and global destinations with greater convenience.

During the launch event, Centrum Air’s Head of Agents Relation, Adilmirza Khalmirzaev, showcased the airline’s growing route network, modern fleet, competitive fares and transit opportunities available through Tashkent.

Meanwhile, Gerry’s Group General Manager Marketing Shahbaz M. Khan highlighted the company’s nationwide aviation network and its experience in airline representation and operational services. He said the company remains committed to delivering world-class support for Centrum Air in Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with networking sessions involving travel agencies, aviation professionals and corporate partners. Guests also participated in a cake-cutting ceremony, lucky draw and souvenir distribution.
