ISLAMABAD, September 23, 2026: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing a reliable and safe water supply to Islamabad’s residents.

It is also working to improve water storage capacity and explore additional sustainable sources.

CDA Cleans G-10 Water Reservoirs

As part of its routine maintenance and disinfection programme, CDA carried out cleaning of water reservoirs at the G-10 Water Works.

The authority said reservoir cleaning and disinfection are conducted regularly.

The measures aim to maintain hygienic conditions and protect the quality of drinking water supplied to residents.

CDA’s Islamabad Water team is also monitoring and maintaining water supply facilities across the capital.

The authority said these efforts are intended to ensure residents receive clean and safe drinking water.

CDA Promotes Rainwater Harvesting

CDA said rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge are important parts of its long-term water management strategy.

Residential, institutional and commercial buildings are being encouraged to install scientifically designed systems where technically feasible.

Such systems can collect and conserve rainwater while supporting groundwater recharge.

CDA also plans to encourage appropriate filtration systems to help reduce the risk of groundwater contamination.
