Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Muhammad Awn Chaudhry visited the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) Secretariat in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed, along with senior officials, received the minister upon his arrival.

During the visit, officials briefed Chaudhry on the fund’s administrative affairs, ongoing welfare projects and facilities available to industrial workers and their families.

Minister Praises Record Revenue Collection

Chaudhry congratulated Zulfiqar Ahmed and his team on what the institution described as record revenue collection in its history.

He also praised the overall performance of the Workers Welfare Fund.

The minister said the government’s worker-focused policies have strengthened efforts to provide welfare services to industrial workers and their families.

He also credited Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain for supporting these efforts.

Government Focuses on Workers’ Welfare

Chaudhry said the government is taking practical steps to improve the quality of life of working families.

These measures include welfare support, quality education for workers’ children and residential facilities.

He said the government will continue developing initiatives that address the needs of the working class.

The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights and expanding access to welfare services.

Digitalisation Aims to Improve Transparency

Chaudhry praised the Workers Welfare Fund for digitalising its systems.

He said the move can bring the institution closer to modern governance standards.

According to the minister, digital systems can improve transparency, speed up service delivery and strengthen monitoring of welfare programmes.

He described the digital transformation as an important step for a public-sector institution.

Cashless Policy Supports Welfare Services

The minister also highlighted the WWF’s adoption of a cashless policy.

He said the initiative can promote transparency and merit while making welfare services easier and safer for workers and their families.

Chaudhry described the cashless system and digitalisation as examples of modern governance in the public sector.

He added that the Workers Welfare Fund remains committed to implementing the policies and vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

WWF Pledges More Effective Services

Secretary Zulfiqar Ahmed thanked the minister for visiting the WWF Secretariat.

He said the institution remains committed to carrying out its responsibilities for workers and their families more effectively.

Chaudhry also said the government would continue efforts to protect workers’ rights and provide maximum possible welfare facilities.

He expressed confidence that the Workers Welfare Fund would become a more effective, transparent and modern institution.

At the end of the visit, Secretary WWF Islamabad Zulfiqar Ahmed presented a commemorative shield to Minister of State Muhammad Awn Chaudhry.
