RAWALPINDI: Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorism, saying security forces will continue operations against militant groups until the threat and its support networks are dismantled.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir addressed participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The army chief said operations against what the military describes as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan would continue until terrorism and its facilitators are completely eliminated.
He added that Pakistan remains committed to dismantling any terrorist infrastructure that poses a threat to national security, wherever it exists.
Asim Munir said the combined efforts of security forces and law enforcement agencies, supported by the public, would help establish lasting peace in Balochistan.
The field marshal said proxy groups backed by external elements continue attempts to spread unrest and instability in Balochistan.
He said the armed forces, with the support and unity of the people, would defeat such attempts and safeguard the country’s security.
Asim Munir described Balochistan as a source of national pride, saying the province possesses vast natural resources and a patriotic, talented and resilient population.
He said the federal and provincial governments are implementing inclusive development projects aimed at improving the province’s social and economic conditions.
The army chief also praised the role of civil society, universities, the media and young people in promoting national unity. He said collective efforts and national solidarity are essential to overcome challenges and build a stable future.
According to the ISPR, the session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer discussion, during which participants reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan’s peace, stability, development and sovereignty.
