The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) has held a rabies awareness session at The Hunar Foundation.

The session formed part of the Rabies Awareness Campaign 2026, titled “Stronger Together for a Rabies-Free Pakistan.”

The campaign aims to promote awareness about rabies prevention and encourage timely medical care after dog bites.

The session brought together 110 participants, including students, teachers, the principal and faculty members.

Focus on Dog-Bite Prevention

Health experts highlighted key steps to reduce the risk of rabies after animal bites.

Participants learned about dog-bite prevention and the importance of taking immediate action after a bite.

The session stressed the need to wash wounds promptly with soap and running water.

Timely PEP Can Help Prevent Rabies

The session also explained the role of Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) after possible rabies exposure.

PEP can help prevent rabies when provided promptly and according to medical guidance.

IHHN used the session to encourage students and educators to share accurate information about rabies prevention within their communities.

Hunar Foundation Supports Awareness Campaign

The Hunar Foundation joined the campaign to support efforts to raise awareness about rabies.

The organisation said awareness and timely action can help prevent deaths from the disease.

IHHN’s campaign seeks to promote public knowledge about prevention, wound care and access to medical treatment.
