The University of Lahore (UOL) and the University of Plymouth, UK, have officially launched what they describe as Pakistan’s first Transnational Education (TNE) partnership.

The programme will allow Pakistani students to earn a University of Plymouth degree while completing their studies at The University of Lahore.

The partnership marks a significant development in Pakistan’s higher education sector. It also creates a new pathway for students seeking international academic qualifications without leaving the country.

UOL and Plymouth Launch TNE Programme

The University of Lahore hosted a ceremony to mark the launch of the partnership.

Ben Warrington, Head of the British High Commission Lahore Office, attended the event as Chief Guest.

Awais Rauf, Chairman of the Board of Governors of The University of Lahore, chaired the ceremony.

The University of Plymouth delegation was led by Professor Vladimir Bogdaingeta, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Transnational Education.

Registrar Ali Aslam, Dean Dr Samina Shah and other dignitaries also attended the event.

UK-Pakistan Education Ties Gain Momentum

Addressing the gathering, Ben Warrington highlighted the importance of educational partnerships between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

He said such partnerships can give students access to world-class education while creating strong opportunities in Pakistan.

Warrington added that international academic collaboration can improve students’ knowledge and confidence.

He also praised the role of the British Council in strengthening education links between the two countries.

The British High Commission official reaffirmed the commitment to further expand educational cooperation between Pakistan and the UK.

University of Lahore Calls Partnership a Milestone

Awais Rauf described the programme as a major milestone for Pakistan’s education sector.

He said the initiative represents the first TNE programme of its kind at a Pakistani university.

Rauf also highlighted the new opportunities the partnership can create for students seeking international higher education.

He congratulated the teams from both universities for turning the long-planned initiative into reality.

The partnership is expected to strengthen academic collaboration between Pakistan and the UK.

It could also give more Pakistani students access to internationally recognised qualifications while allowing them to study locally.
