Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited has expanded the country’s fuel storage capacity by inaugurating a 7.4-million-litre motor gasoline storage tank at its Tarru Jabba terminal in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The latest investment aims to strengthen Pakistan’s energy infrastructure and improve the reliability of fuel supplies as demand continues to rise nationwide.

The newly commissioned facility marks another milestone in Wafi Energy’s long-term investment strategy and is expected to enhance fuel availability for customers, particularly along major highways leading to Pakistan’s popular tourist destinations.

Representatives from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) attended the inauguration ceremony, led by Senior Executive Director (Enforcement) Sohail Ahmed Tariq, alongside senior officials from Wafi Energy Pakistan.

Chief Executive Officer Zubair Shaikh said the company has served Pakistan since 1947 and remains committed to investing in the country’s energy future.

“Pakistan’s demand for fuel continues to grow, and we are investing to strengthen the country’s energy security. Reliable fuel supply depends on storage capacity and proximity to customers. This investment enhances our ability to serve consumers while supporting the continued expansion of our Shell network across Pakistan,” Shaikh said.

The company completed construction of the storage tank within one year, recording 300,000 safe work-hours during the project. The new facility is expected to improve fuel distribution efficiency and reinforce supply chain resilience across the region.

Wafi Energy also highlighted the continued expansion of its Shell-branded retail network, which now operates more than 700 fuel stations nationwide following the addition of 32 new sites in 2026.

The investment reflects the company’s broader commitment to supporting Pakistan’s growing energy requirements through infrastructure development while ensuring a stable and reliable fuel supply for consumers and businesses.
