Syra Yousuf has expanded her career beyond acting by announcing her debut project as a producer.

The actor revealed her first short film, Shireen, directed by Ali Mehdi. She also introduced SYCinemagic, her new production banner.

Syra shared the film’s poster on Instagram and described the project as personal and “close to my heart.”

She said the short film marks the beginning of a platform she has wanted to build for some time. The platform aims to support creators and storytellers whose work deserves an opportunity to reach audiences.

Syra also spoke about the satisfaction of helping bring another creator’s vision to life. She said watching different creative elements come together made the project especially meaningful.

Syra Yousuf’s Acting Career

Syra Yousuf began her television career with Mera Naseeb in 2011. She later appeared in dramas such as Bilqees Kaur, Tanhaiyaan Naye Silsilay and Ru Baru.

She later joined the cast of the popular ensemble drama Sinf-e-Aahan. In the series, she played Arzoo Daniel, a Christian girl from Lahore who aims to join the Pakistan Military Academy.

The role added another notable performance to Syra’s television career.

From Acting to Film Production

Syra has also worked in Pakistani cinema. In 2023, she starred in the romantic comedy Babylicious opposite her former husband, Shahroz Sabzwari.

With Shireen, Syra now takes on a new role behind the camera.
