Pakistani actor Sarah Khan has urged the government to take immediate action to protect children from sexual abuse.

In a series of Instagram stories, Sarah said she felt “ashamed” of the world children are growing up in. She also highlighted the fear and pain faced by young victims and their families.

“As a mother of two daughters, I feel ashamed that this is the world our children are growing up in,” she wrote.

The actor questioned how many more children must suffer before authorities treat child safety as an emergency.

Sarah Demands Strict Enforcement of Law

Sarah said people who rape or sexually abuse children should face the strongest punishment allowed under the law.

“If the law provides the death penalty for such crimes, enforce it,” she wrote.

However, the actor said punishment alone should not be the government’s only response. She called for stronger preventive measures to stop abuse before it occurs.

“We don’t need another statement of condemnation after another child has been abused. We need action before it happens,” Sarah said.

Actor Calls for Transparency

Sarah also demanded greater transparency in the handling of child abuse cases.

She asked authorities to explain how police investigate such cases and how prosecutors pursue offenders.

Furthermore, she called for clear measures to protect babies, toddlers and young girls from future abuse.

The actor urged government officials to use their authority to make children safer.

“They cannot fight for themselves. We have to fight for them,” she wrote.

Sarah tagged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Government of Pakistan and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar in her post.

Celebrities Demand Child Protection

Sarah’s comments come amid growing concern within Pakistan’s entertainment industry over violence and abuse against children.

Other celebrities, including Mahira Khan, Naimal Khawar and Sonya Hussyn, have also called for accountability.

Their calls followed several recent cases involving the alleged abduction, sexual assault and murder of children.

One case involved five-year-old Ayat Noor in Haripur. Another involved a one-and-a-half-year-old girl in Karachi who died following alleged sexual assault.

Consequently, public pressure has increased on authorities to strengthen child protection and ensure accountability.

The growing campaign also highlights the need for effective enforcement of existing laws, better investigations and stronger safeguards for vulnerable children.
