The Pakistan SADC Chamber Trade Federation (PSCTF), Pakistan Chapter, aims to strengthen trade and investment ties between Pakistan and African countries through its first Africa Diplomatic and Economic Conference 2026.
Muhammad Rafiq Memon, chairman of the PSCTF Pakistan Chapter, said the conference could create new business opportunities and turn diplomatic relations into practical economic partnerships.
Memon spoke at a press conference at the Pearl-Continental Hotel in Karachi on October 19, a day before the scheduled conference. He highlighted the potential for stronger trade links, particularly with countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
He also expressed hope that cooperation with government institutions and trade bodies would help Pakistani businesses expand into African markets.
Dewan Muhammad Yousuf Farooqui, patron-in-chief of the PSCTF Pakistan Chapter, welcomed the expected delegates and participants.

He said the conference offered an opportunity to strengthen Pakistan–Africa relations and develop partnerships across industry, technology and sustainable mobility.
“Yousuf Dewan Companies remains committed to Pakistan’s economic development, innovation and global collaboration,” he said.
Farooqui expressed hope that the event would encourage lasting partnerships and shared prosperity between Pakistan and African nations.
Syed Moizuddin, president of the PSCTF Pakistan Chapter, also stressed the importance of stronger trade relations with African countries.
He said the initiative would bring Pakistani business representatives together with African diplomatic missions based in Pakistan. The discussions would focus on trade, investment and economic cooperation.
Moizuddin added that the conference could help stakeholders develop joint strategies and identify opportunities for businesses on both sides. He reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan–Africa economic ties.
Mohammad Shafiq, senior vice president of the PSCTF Pakistan Chapter, called for practical steps to increase trade and investment.
He said African markets offered considerable business potential. Pakistan, he added, should explore these opportunities to strengthen its economy and expand export markets.
Bakhtiyar Ahmed Farooqui, chairman of the federation’s Economic Advisory Council, and Ikram Ullah Jan, president of the PSCTF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, also addressed the press conference.
The conference will follow the theme “Building Bridges of Diplomacy, Trade & Investment for Shared Prosperity.”
Organisers say the event aims to encourage business networking, attract investment and help Pakistani companies explore markets across Africa.
The Southern African Development Community (SADC), a regional bloc of 16 member states according to the press release, is a particular focus.
Organisers expected ambassadors of African countries based in Islamabad to attend. Consuls general and consuls representing African countries in Karachi were also expected.
The guest list was also expected to include leaders of major trade associations, chambers of commerce and industry, and representatives of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
The organisers hope the conference will create stronger business connections and open new avenues for trade and investment between Pakistan and African countries.
