Nestlé Pakistan will showcase its sustainability initiatives at the 29th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC) and Sustainability Investment Expo (SIE). The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) will host the events from November 2 to 5, 2026.
The company plans to highlight its work on regenerative agriculture, climate action and water stewardship. It will also present initiatives focused on packaging, waste management and the circular economy.
Nestlé Pakistan returns to the forum after receiving two major honours in 2025. It secured first position in the Renewable Energy and Low-Carbon Transitions category at the SDC Sustainability Awards. It also won the Best Pavilion Award at the Sustainability Investment Expo.
This year, the company aims to demonstrate how it incorporates sustainability across its value chain. Its efforts cover farms, factories, communities and ecosystems.
Under the theme “Advancing Regenerative Food Systems at Scale,” Nestlé Pakistan will present its initiatives at the Sustainability Investment Expo.
The company’s pavilion will feature models and interactive displays. These will showcase its sustainability practices and work with partner farmers.

Visitors will learn how renewable energy, regenerative farming and water stewardship support food systems. The displays will also explain the company’s approach to packaging circularity.
Sheikh Waqar Ahmad, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Nestlé Pakistan and Afghanistan, said resilient food systems depend on stronger farmer livelihoods and healthier ecosystems.
He said collaboration could help protect and restore the environment. It could also support responsible packaging and better waste management.
Nestlé remains committed to expanding these initiatives, Ahmad added. The company aims to create a lasting impact for people and the planet.
Nestlé Pakistan will also participate in the conference’s policy discussions.
A high-level joint plenary will focus on “Transforming Pakistan’s Agriculture and Food Systems in an Age of Disruption: AI for Regenerative and Climate-Smart Agriculture.”
The session will explore the role of technology in agriculture. It will also address climate resilience and the future of Pakistan’s food systems.
Dr Abid Qaiyum Suleri, Executive Director of SDPI, said Pakistan needed to rethink food production and natural resource management.
He said the country must also strengthen its ability to respond to climate change. Regenerative and climate-smart food systems are important for environmental protection and economic stability, he added.
Nestlé Pakistan said it reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than 48 per cent in 2025 compared with its 2018 baseline.
The company aims to cut emissions by half by 2030. It also targets net-zero emissions by 2050.
Its initiatives include 9.6 megawatts of solar power capacity across manufacturing sites. The company has also installed a 20-tonne-per-hour biomass boiler at its Kabirwala factory.
At farms, Nestlé supports renewable energy and energy-efficiency projects. These include 135 solar plants and 25 biogas plants.
Regenerative agriculture remains a key part of Nestlé’s sustainability strategy.
The company aims to source 50 per cent of its key ingredients from farmers using regenerative agriculture practices by 2030. It also says that 40 per cent of its fresh milk already comes from regenerative agriculture sources.
Nestlé is also working to improve packaging and waste management. Its vision is to prevent packaging from ending up in landfills or as litter.
The company’s efforts include packaging innovation and partnerships for collection and recycling. These initiatives aim to support more sustainable packaging systems and a circular economy.
Nestlé Pakistan said its participation in the SDC and SIE reflects its Creating Shared Value approach. The strategy links long-term business growth with benefits for people, communities and the environment.
