NCCIA has established special units to tackle fake news and what it describes as anti-state propaganda. The agency has also activated cyber patrolling units across all regions to monitor online activity.
NCCIA spokesperson said Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi recently completed a five-day visit to the agency’s circles across Punjab.
During the tour, Rizvi inspected reporting centres, police stations and offices. He also met more than 500 complainants and reviewed their concerns.
Rizvi directed officials to make the complaint registration and verification process easier for citizens. He also instructed officers to use available resources effectively and provide timely relief.

The director general said the agency had adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards fake news and anti-state propaganda. Merit and transparency, he added, would remain key priorities.
Rizvi also reviewed pending cybercrime complaints during his visit. The assessment covered investigation branches, complaint cells and FIR sections.
Record management and other administrative matters also came under review. Officials were instructed to improve their overall performance and process complaints and cases without unnecessary delays.
The NCCIA chief directed officers to conduct investigations transparently and keep official records updated.
Regular monitoring of cases and improved complaint handling, he said, would help strengthen the agency’s response to cybercrime.
