Karachi, August 7, 2026: Meezan Bank reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs48.88 billion for the half year ended June 30, 2026. The result marks a 6% increase from the same period last year and highlights the bank’s continued financial growth.

The Board of Directors approved the bank’s financial statements at a meeting chaired by Riyadh S.A.A. Edrees, Chairman of the Board.
Basic earnings per share rose to Rs27.15 during the first half of 2026. The figure stood at Rs25.72 during the same period in 2025.
The Board also approved an interim cash dividend of 80%. This equals Rs8 per share for the second quarter of 2026.
Meezan Bank maintained a strong capital position during the period. Its Capital Adequacy Ratio remained above 19%.
The ratio stands well above the regulatory requirement. This provides the bank with a strong capital base to support future growth.
The bank also remains one of Pakistan’s most valuable banking institutions. Its market capitalisation has crossed $3.3 billion.
Meezan Bank’s total assets stood at Rs5.14 trillion at the end of June 2026.
The figure compares with Rs4.81 trillion at the end of December 2025. The bank also maintained strong asset quality during the period.
Its non-performing financing ratio stood at 1.83%. This remains among the lowest levels in Pakistan’s banking sector.
The bank also kept a strong provision cover against non-performing financing. Its coverage ratio reached 152%.
The bank’s net spread income reached Rs128.79 billion in the first half of 2026. It stood at Rs125.76 billion during the same period last year.
The figure represents a 2% increase.
Non-funded income showed stronger growth during the period. It increased to Rs21.63 billion from Rs15.92 billion a year earlier.
This represents a 36% year-on-year increase. Higher foreign exchange income helped drive the rise.
Branch banking fees also contributed to the increase. Debit card-related fees provided another source of growth.
Overall, Meezan Bank’s financial results show continued growth in profitability and fee-based income. The bank also maintained strong capital and asset quality during the first half of 2026.
