KATSEYE member Sophia Laforteza is expected to return to group activities in the first week of January 2027. HYBE x Geffen (HxG) confirmed the timeline in an announcement.
However, the news has prompted fans to ask about fellow member Manon Bannerman. Her hiatus began in February, and the company has not announced a return date.
In a notice published on Weverse, HxG said Sophia had been prioritising her health and wellbeing. The company said it had supported her during this period.
Sophia will miss the North American leg of KATSEYE’s THE WILWORLD TOUR. She will also sit out promotional activities for the rest of 2026.
She had previously missed the group’s European and UK tour dates in September.
The January 2027 timeline gives fans a clearer idea of her expected comeback. However, HxG did not provide further details about her treatment.
Following the announcement, many fans welcomed Sophia’s expected return. Others called on HxG to clarify Manon’s status.
The company announced Manon’s hiatus in February. At the time, HxG described the break as temporary.

The company said the decision followed “open and thoughtful conversations together”.
Manon later reassured fans about her wellbeing. “I’m healthy, I’m okay, and I’m taking care of myself,” she said.
Despite her statement, questions about her future with the group have continued.
Manon’s absence has also prompted wider discussions about representation in the music industry.
In a Vanity Fair interview published on June 30, Sophia rejected claims that race was behind the situation.
“We can definitely say that in our situation, in no way was it about race,” Sophia said.
Her comments came amid growing online speculation about Manon’s hiatus.
Fellow KATSEYE member Daniela recently spoke about Manon during a fan interaction at Paris Fashion Week.
When asked about her groupmate, Daniela expressed affection and support.
“I miss her so much! And I wish her the best, I miss her!” she said.
Another fan asked why Manon was “not in KATSEYE anymore”. Daniela replied, “I’m not sure.”
Her response offered no clarification about Manon’s future with the group.
For now, Sophia is expected to return in January 2027. HxG has yet to announce when Manon might resume group activities.
