Building collapse claimed the life of a 20-year-old construction worker after part of an under-construction building collapsed in Peshawar on Sunday, hospital officials said.

The incident occurred on Band Budh Bair Road in the Zangli Tila area, where the worker, identified as Aamir, became trapped beneath the debris.

Rescue 1122 teams and ambulance personnel rushed to the scene after receiving the emergency call.

Rescuers pulled Aamir from the rubble and provided first aid before transporting him to Lady Reading Hospital in critical condition.

Hospital officials said the worker later died from his injuries despite emergency medical treatment.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the building collapse.

Officials are expected to investigate the incident to determine what led to the structure’s failure.
