The Punjab Family Planning Program (PFPP), through its Behtarqadam initiative, has reached an estimated 100,000 people across Punjab through 755 events and sessions.
Implemented by the RIZ-Rayn Consortium, the programme has organised activities in all 41 districts of the province. These include health fairs, university and college awareness sessions, meetings with civil society organisations, NGOs and religious scholars, as well as sports events.
According to programme figures, the estimated reach covers direct and indirect engagement up to the end of September 2026.
Behtarqadam promotes a Nayi Soch — a renewed approach to family wellbeing. The initiative focuses particularly on maternal, newborn, child and youth health.
It engages communities through awareness activities and interactive sessions. Participants can learn about relevant health topics, ask questions and take part in open discussions.

The programme also creates opportunities for people to exchange views and seek information. Its activities aim to make conversations about family wellbeing more accessible and relevant to local communities.
Dr Farrukh Amin, Additional Program Director at the Punjab Family Planning Program, highlighted the importance of access to reliable information.
“Building healthier families starts with access to the right information and the confidence to make informed decisions. Through Behtarqadam, we are reaching communities across Punjab and helping bring important conversations about family health and wellbeing into everyday life,” he said.
The programme also encourages participants to engage directly with speakers and explore different topics through questions and discussion.
A student who attended one of the sessions said the interactive format made the experience more engaging.
“What I liked most was that it didn’t feel like a lecture. We were encouraged to share our thoughts, ask questions, and talk openly about things we wouldn’t normally discuss. It made the session much more interesting and easier to relate to,” the student said.
Behtarqadam plans to build on its progress by creating more opportunities for learning and discussion. The programme aims to reach additional communities and encourage dialogue among people from diverse backgrounds.
Through these activities, the initiative seeks to strengthen public understanding of family wellbeing across Punjab.
