Planned activities include financial literacy workshops, educational sessions and professional-development programmes. Meanwhile, both sides will support sustainable entrepreneurship and income growth among freelancers.
PAFLA and HBL will organise joint events and community activities to strengthen Pakistan’s freelancing ecosystem.
They will also explore industry partnerships and awareness campaigns. These efforts aim to connect freelancers with new opportunities and support long-term growth.
PAFLA Chairman Ibrahim Amin said freelancers have become an important part of Pakistan’s digital economy.
He noted that freelancers contribute foreign exchange, create employment opportunities and help reduce unemployment.
Amin also highlighted the role of banks in supporting freelancers. He said financial institutions should provide not only banking services but also initiatives focused on skills development and financial literacy.
HBL President and CEO Muhammad Nassir Salim said freelancers are creating new opportunities by connecting Pakistani talent with global markets.
“Freelancers are playing an increasingly important role in Pakistan’s digital economy,” Salim said.
He added that HBL would support freelancers through tailored financial solutions and greater digital inclusion.
Salim also highlighted the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of work. He said investment in freelancer upskilling has become increasingly important as AI reshapes employment and business models.
According to PAFLA, Pakistan has nearly 3 million freelancers, making it one of the world’s major freelancing markets.
The latest partnership aims to help freelancers build future-ready skills while improving access to financial services and international markets.
