SBBDU, Lakhmir Zamurani Launch DXL Institute for Digital Markets

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Dewan University (SBBDU) has partnered with Lakhmir Zamurani to establish a specialized institute for digital markets and emerging financial technologies.

The partnership will create DXL (Dewan × Lakhmir), a professional education platform focused on artificial intelligence, technology, blockchain, Web3, trading, forex, stocks, cryptocurrency and the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

The agreement was signed on September 14 at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel Karachi.

Mr Yousuf Dewan, SBBDU Vice Chancellor Mr Aurangzeb and DXL Founder Lakhmir Zamurani signed the agreement.

The initiative aims to address the growing demand for structured education in digital financial markets. It will combine academic learning with practical exposure to modern financial technologies.

DXL to Offer 12-Week Professional Diploma

DXL will offer professional programmes covering AI technology, blockchain, Web3, trading, forex, stocks, cryptocurrency and PSX market dynamics.

Its flagship programme will run for 12 weeks and include 288 contact hours.

The curriculum will focus on practical learning. Students will study technology fundamentals, market structures, price action, risk management and trading psychology.

The programme will conclude with a supervised live-trading practicum using demo accounts.

Active market professionals will lead the instruction. The institute will combine practitioner-led teaching with structured academic learning and support from educational authorities.

The programme aims to give students a stronger foundation than informal or self-directed market education.

DXL Plans Learning Hubs Across Pakistan

DXL plans to expand its presence across Pakistan through dedicated learning hubs.

The first hubs will operate at Park Towers in Clifton and Dewan University in Korangi Industrial Area.

The facilities will support large student cohorts beyond traditional classroom capacity. They will also include dedicated faculty and administrative infrastructure.

In addition, DXL will use a hybrid learning model. This approach will allow students and working professionals from across Pakistan to participate.

The model could also expand access to specialized financial and technology education beyond Karachi.

Institute Targets Digital Finance Education Gap

Interest in digital assets and emerging financial technologies continues to grow. However, structured education in cryptocurrency, forex, blockchain and Web3 remains limited.

DXL aims to bring these interconnected areas into one learning pathway.

The institute will combine academic discipline with practical exposure to financial markets. As a result, students can study both the technology behind digital markets and the principles that shape trading and investment decisions.

The partnership also targets students, young professionals and other people seeking systematic knowledge of emerging financial technologies.

SBBDU, DXL Highlight Practical Learning

SBBDU Vice Chancellor Mr Aurangzeb said universities must prepare students for the changing economy.

“Our responsibility is to prepare students for the economy they will actually work in. Digital markets are no longer peripheral to finance, and this partnership allows us to teach them with the rigour any academic programme demands,” he said.

DXL Founder Lakhmir Zamurani said many people already participate in digital markets without formal training.

“Thousands of people in this country are already active in these markets, most of them self-taught and without structure,” he said.

Zamurani added that DXL aims to provide a structured foundation through practitioners with direct market experience.

The partnership positions DXL as a dedicated platform for professional education in digital markets, financial technology and emerging areas such as blockchain and Web3.
