Barcelona extended their winning run with an entertaining 4-2 victory over Levante at the Ciutat de València.
The result kept Hansi Flick’s side three points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.
Real Madrid had beaten Rayo Vallecano on Saturday to keep the pressure on the champions.
Barcelona have now won all five of their league matches this season.
However, Levante exposed weaknesses in Barcelona’s defence during a tense second half.
Barcelona quickly took control of the match.
Xavi Espart opened the scoring in the fifth minute. The 19-year-old midfielder cut through the middle before his shot took a slight deflection and beat goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.
The goal marked Espart’s first for Barcelona.
Flick has promoted the youngster to the first team this season. He has also used him at left-back.
Levante responded with sustained pressure.
Petar Ratkov failed to make proper contact with a good chance. Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia then produced a strong save to deny Roger Brugue.
Barcelona punished those missed opportunities soon after.
Raphinha rounded Ryan before finding Yamal in space. The teenager finished into an empty net in the 19th minute.
Yamal doubled his tally shortly after the restart.
The Spain winger won a penalty after Aissa Mandi brought him down inside the area.
Yamal stepped up and sent the spot kick past Ryan.
The goal marked his seventh across all competitions in his last four games.

Barcelona appeared to have the match under control. However, Levante refused to give up.
Eric Garcia cleared Ivan Romero’s bouncing effort off the line. Romero then took advantage of an Espart mistake and pulled one goal back.
Brugue later capitalised on an error from Marc Bernal.
His goal reduced the deficit to one and created a tense final period.
Levante pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages.
Barcelona eventually found the decisive goal in stoppage time.
Substitute Karim Adeyemi produced a powerful solo run through the Levante defence. He then kept his composure to beat Ryan and secure Barcelona’s 4-2 victory.
Flick admitted that his team had not produced its best performance.
“It was not our best game of course,” Flick told reporters.
He said Barcelona started strongly but struggled more after the break.
The German coach also called on his players to improve before their next match.
Barcelona defender Eric Garcia agreed with his manager’s assessment.
He said the team relaxed during the second half and made the match harder than necessary.
Atletico Madrid also secured a victory on Sunday.
Diego Simeone’s side defeated Real Sociedad 3-0 with three late goals.
The result moved Atletico joint-third in the La Liga standings.
Atletico played without Julian Alvarez after the forward suffered a muscle injury in training on Saturday.
The Madrid side responded well after losing to Athletic Bilbao last weekend.
Alejandro Grimaldo opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 84th minute.
Canada international Jonathan David then scored his first goal for Atletico in the 90th minute.
Giuliano Simeone completed the victory deep into stoppage time.
Elsewhere, Celta Vigo drew 1-1 at home with Malaga.
Getafe also shared the points with Deportivo La Coruna after a 1-1 draw.
Barcelona will now look to maintain their perfect league record while continuing to improve their defensive performance.
