Tashkent Flights between Uzbekistan and Pakistan are set to expand as Uzbekistan’s private airline, Centrum Air, launches direct scheduled services between Tashkent and Karachi from September 3, marking a major step in strengthening bilateral connectivity.

The new route is the result of coordinated efforts by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan and the aviation and transport authorities of both countries. Officials say the direct service will improve travel options while supporting growing economic and people-to-people ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

Centrum Air will operate the Tashkent–Karachi–Tashkent route twice a week, with flights scheduled every Thursday and Sunday. The service is expected to significantly reduce travel time and provide greater convenience for business travellers, tourists, students and religious pilgrims.

The launch of the direct connection is also expected to enhance trade and logistics by linking Pakistan’s largest port city with Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region. Karachi’s strategic location could make the new route an important gateway for passengers and businesses seeking improved regional access.

The expansion reflects growing cooperation between the two countries in the aviation sector and supports broader efforts to strengthen commercial, cultural and tourism exchanges.

Currently, six scheduled flights operate each week between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. These include four weekly services on the Tashkent–Lahore route and two weekly flights connecting Islamabad with Tashkent. The addition of Karachi will further expand direct air connectivity and provide travellers with more convenient options.

The new service is expected to encourage tourism, facilitate business travel and deepen regional integration by creating stronger air links between Pakistan and Central Asia.
