The Sindh government has appointed Saif ur Rahman as the new Principal Secretary to the Governor of Sindh, according to an official notification issued on Friday. Dr Syed Saif ur Rahman, a Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officer in Grade 21, will assume the role with immediate effect.

The appointment places the senior civil servant in one of the province’s key administrative positions, where he will oversee official coordination, administrative affairs, and policy matters relating to the Governor’s Secretariat.

More than 100 words into the announcement, Saif ur Rahman has officially been assigned the responsibilities of Principal Secretary to the Governor of Sindh following the issuance of the government notification. As a Grade 21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, Dr Syed Saif ur Rahman brings extensive experience in public administration and government management to the office.

The notification formalises his appointment and marks a new administrative development within the Governor House, where the Principal Secretary plays a central role in coordinating official matters, facilitating communication with government departments, and supporting the Governor in administrative and constitutional responsibilities.
